Polymer-derived ceramics for advanced energy applications

Ralf Riedel
Technical University Darmstadt, Germany

Prof. Riedel studied chemistry at the University of Stuttgart (Germany) and received his PhD degree in inorganic chemistry in 1986. Subsequently, he worked as a postdoc at the Max-Planck-Institute for Metals Research and got his habilitation in inorganic chemistry at the University of Stuttgart in 1992. Since 1993, he has been Professor at the Institute of Materials Science at the Technische Universitat Darmstadt (Germany) and worked there as Dean of the Department between 2010 and 2018. Since 2016, he has been appointed as Adjunct Professor at the Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) in Xian (China).
