Luminescence thermometry C towards higher accuracy in a wider range of temperatures

The main research interest of Prof. Eugeniusz Zych is nano- or microcrystalline phosphors and their sintered versions. He discovered a new family of persistent and storage phosphors based on Lu2O3 host and activated with Tb or Pr. His recent interest is in measuring temperature by means of luminescence effects. In depth understanding mechanisms of various spectroscopic processes is in his core interest. This further allows him to shape materials properties towards required in specific applications. In the essenceof his research are questions on management of defects to deliberately shape materials properties and performance.
