Mechanisms of thermal depolarization and electromechanical hardening in lead-free piezoelectric composites
Jurij Koruza obtained his Diploma degree in Metallurgy and Materials Science at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 2008, and his Ph.D. in Nanosciences and Nanotechnology at the Jozef Stefan International Postgraduate School, Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 2013. His Ph.D. was related to the study of sintering and phase transitions of lead-free piezoelectrics based on alkaline niobates and was carried out at the Electronic Ceramics Department at the Jozef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

In 2013 he joined the Department of Materials Science at the Technische Universitat Darmstadt, Germany, where he was initially a postdoctoral fellow working on electromechanical characterization of ferroelectrics. Since 2015 he holds the position of the Junior leader of the group ¡°Processing of ferroelectrics¡±, within the group of Professor J¨¹rgen Rodel at the Technische Universitat Darmstadt. The main goals of hisresearch are the development of new non-toxic piezoceramics and the understanding of the mechanisms responsible for the enhancement of electromechanical properties.

During his research career he authored and co-authored 39 scientific journal articles, 3 book chapter, 7 conference articles, and presented his work in over 60 conference contributions and 9 invited contributions. He is a member of the European Ceramic Society, American Ceramic Society, German Society for Materials Science, and IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control Society.

Some young Chinese Scholars are also invited to CICC-10 (see list)
