MAX phases and other carbides for severe environments
Bill Lee is a Professor Ceramic Engineering in the Department of Materials at Imperial College London and until Oct 2017 President of the American Ceramic Society.He spent 17 years in the Department of Engineering Materials, University of Sheffield before moving to Imperial 10 years ago to head up the Materials Department. He has supervised 59 students to successful completion of their PhDs and published over 400 papers and 4 books on ceramics. He is a member of the UKĄ¯s Nuclear Innovation and Research Advisory Board (NIRAB), the Royal Academy of Engineering International Activities Committee, and was previously Deputy Chair of the Government advisory Committee on Radioactive Waste Management (CoRWM) from 2007-2013. He has acted as special advisor nuclear to the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee (2013).
