New synthesis path of ultra-transparent fluoride ceramics for laser applications
Michel Mortier, (Ph.D.-Materials Science, HDR), now is a Research Director at CNRS, founder and head of the Instituteof Research in Chemistry of Paris in PSL Research University. He got his Ph.D degree in Physics and habilitation in Chemistry, both at Pierre et Marie Curie University (Paris 6). Currently Michel Mortier¡¯ researches focus on designing optical materials, especially rare earth doped fluoride inorganic materials: glasses, glass-ceramics and ceramics. He studies the optical properties through optical spectroscopy and is aiming to link chemical design and the optical properties in order to tailor and improve these last ones.
