Innovative synthetic route towards reactive, ultra-pure nanosized actinide oxides
Karin Popa acts as Scientific Officer at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. He received a Ph.D. in Radiochemistry in 2001 from the "Alexandru IoanCuza" University of Iasi (Romania). In the same year, he joined the faculty at the University of Iasi. During 2011-2014, he acted as the head of the Quality Control Department of the Uranium National Company S.A. (Romania). Much of his current research is focused on the safety of the nuclear fuels and on the ceramic-typenuclear waste forms (monazites, cheralites, pyrochlores).
