Recent materials development efforts in General Atomics¡¯ Energy Multiplier Module (EM2) reactor, a gas cooled fast spectrum reactor

Dr. Chunghao Phillip Shih is a Scientist from Nuclear Technology and Materials group in General Atomics. He received his Ph.D. from University of Florida in 2010. He then worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory from 2011 to 2014. He joined General Atomics (GA) in 2015 working on the joining, fabrication and characterization of silicon carbide (SiC) and SiC fiber reinforced SiC matrix composites for nuclear applications, including in accident tolerant fuel systems and in GA¡¯s Energy Multiplier Module (EM2) reactor concept. He has authored and co-authored more than 30 papers and conference proceeding in the field of nuclear materials.
