Graphene-like ultrathin 2D metal oxide nanomaterials for sustainable applications
Dr. Ziqi Sun is a tenured Senior Lecturerat the School of Chemistry, Physics and Mechanical Engineering, Queensland University of Technology, Australia. He received his PhD in Advanced Ceramics in 2009 at Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. After one-year postdoctoral experience at National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) Japan as NIMS Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Ziqi moved to University of Wollongong (UOW), Australia in 2010 as an APD Fellow. In 2015, He joined Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia as Senior Lecturer and ARC DECRA Fellow. Ziqihas beenawarded with some prestigious awards and fellowshipsincluding the TMS Young Leaders Development Award from the Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS), USA (2015), Discovery Early Career Research Award (DECRA) from Australian Research Council (2014), the Vice-Chancellor¡¯s Research Fellowship from University of Wollongong (2013),Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Fellowship from AvH Foundation, Germany (2009), Australian Postdoctoral (APD) Fellowship from Australian Research Council (2010), etc. He also received some honorary positions, such as Vice-Chair of Energy Committee of TMS USA, the Editorial Board Member of Scientific Reports (Nature Publishing Group) and Journal of Materials Science and Technology (Elsevier), Guest Professor in Shenzhen Institute, Peking University, and Honorary Fellow in University of Wollongong. Ziqi is the program leader for two ongoing Australian Research Council Projects. He held the roles as symposium lead-organizers, co-organizers, and session chairs in some top materials conferences such as TMS conference, ACerS annum conferences, PACRIM conferences, etc. His current research interests include the synthesis and design of metal oxide nanomaterials and bio-inspired smart nanostructures as well as their applications in energy harvesting, conversion, and storage. Ziqi has published more than 80 refereed articles in the field-leading journals such as Nature Communications, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Advanced Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, ACS Nano,Advanced Functional Materials, Nano Energy, NPG Asia Materials, etc.
