High thermal conductivity silicon nitride ceramics for power device applications

Dr. You Zhou is a senior research scientist of National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan. He received his B.S. degree from Zhejiang University in 1990 and his Ph.D. degree from Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1995. Prior to joining AIST in 1999, he was an assistant professor at Shanghai Institute of Ceramics and a postdoctoral fellow at National Institute for Research in Inorganic Materials of Japan and National Industrial Research Institute of Nagoya. His research interests are in processing ceramic powders and bulk materials by using novel methods such as microwave synthesis, combustion synthesis, pulse electric current sintering, etc. He has published over 100 papers on the topics of fabrication and mechanical, tribological, electrical, thermal and optical properties of ceramics and ceramic matrix composites (silicon carbide, silicon nitride, SiAlON, boron carbide, alumina, zirconia, etc.). Recently, he has succeeded in developing silicon nitride substrate materials with very high thermal conductivity and good mechanical properties for power electronic device applications.

Some young Chinese Scholars are also invited to CICC-10 (see list)
